Editorial Content
Specialist
You won't write for algorithms. You'll write for C-suite executives navigating ESG, sustainability, and global business strategy. Your words will carry professional authority — and the Consultivo name.
Where Deep Logic Meets Compelling Story
At Consultivo and Slate of Swan, we sit at the intersection of rigorous business logic and creative storytelling. We help global organisations navigate complex landscapes — from ESG and sustainability to business excellence.
We are not looking for content mill writers who chase clicks. We are looking for an editorial professional to own our brand voice — the bridge between our subject matter experts and the global business audience.
Your work represents a consulting firm trusted by global enterprises. Every sentence must be precise, credible, and intentional.
Deep understanding of a topic comes before a single sentence. You will immerse yourself in unfamiliar industries and emerge with a clear perspective.
Your content reaches C-suite executives and international stakeholders across 19 countries. The stakes are real.
You will sit with consultants, designers, and strategists. The verbal and visual must always align. That is your responsibility.
Four Core Responsibilities
These are not bullet points. They are the pillars of this role.
-
01
Own the Editorial Standard
Proofread, edit, and refine high-stakes reports, white papers, and website content. If it goes out with the Consultivo or Slate of Swan brand on it, it must be flawless. You are the final line of defence before anything reaches a client or audience.
-
02
Translate Complexity
Sit with our consultants. Extract technical insights. Then craft them into narratives that C-suite executives and international stakeholders actually want to read. The ability to simplify without dumbing down is your most valued skill.
-
03
Manage Content Cycles
Work across digital platforms, managing the full lifecycle of content — from initial research and briefing through to final publication. You will own timelines, flag bottlenecks, and keep quality consistent throughout.
-
04
Collaborate Across Brands
You will work directly with our design and consulting teams across Consultivo and Slate of Swan. Your job is to ensure the visual and the verbal are perfectly aligned in every piece of communication.
Four Traits We Cannot Train
Skills can be built. These characteristics must already be yours.
Editorial Perfectionist
You have an obsessive eye for detail. You treat grammar, tone, and logical flow as the bedrock of your work — not an afterthought. You will catch what others miss, and you will not let it go.
Intellectually Robust
You don't just write — you research. You have the stamina to deep-dive into industries you may not know yet and emerge with a coherent, well-argued perspective. Ambiguity energises rather than stalls you.
Proactive & Commute-Fit
You value the energy of an office. You are based within a 60-minute commute of our Dakshineswar office and are genuinely excited to be in-person to brainstorm, collaborate, and build.
Professional Storyteller
You bring 1.5–4 years of editorial experience — ideally from print media or corporate communications. You have a proven track record of stability, consistency, and commitment to the craft.
What Working Here Actually Means
Not perks from a template. These are the genuine realities of this environment.
Great editing requires energy. Our in-office team enjoys two company-sponsored lunches a week, plus evening snacks to keep the 4 PM writer's block at bay.
We operate on a self-supervised work culture. We don't micromanage. We hire capable people and trust them with their workspace, their deadlines, and their outcomes.
Forget rigid vertical silos. Our matrix structure means you collaborate across teams and brands. Your insights reach the right ears without climbing a mountain of red tape.
You are not writing generic content. You are creating high-impact work that influences global business strategy. At Consultivo, your work represents professional authority.
We offer a highly competitive compensation package at the top end of the Kolkata market for editorial roles. We are not looking for the cheapest option. We pay for the best.
We believe in meritocracy. Your package includes a performance-linked variable component (10–15%) based on the depth of your research and the impact of your content. Excellence pays.
This Is Not for Everyone
If you are "just looking for a job," this isn't it. We are building a team of thinkers. This role suits someone who finds intellectual rigour energising — not draining — and who wants their editorial work to carry genuine weight in the world. If you need structure handed to you, or if content is just a stepping stone, please consider other opportunities.

Curiosity zone
Questions? We have answers.
Do I need prior knowledge of ESG or sustainability to apply?
No – but you must be willing to learn deeply and quickly. Our consultants will give you access to their expertise; your job is to translate it, not to arrive already knowing it.
What we cannot teach is the editorial instinct: the ability to structure an argument, hold a reader’s attention, and know when a sentence is doing its job. If you have that, the subject matter will follow.
Candidates from print journalism, corporate communications, or long-form business writing tend to make the transition well.
What does the hybrid arrangement mean in practice?
We expect you to be in our Dakshineswar office for the majority of your working week – typically two to four days. This is not a remote role with occasional office visits. The in-person element is deliberate: briefings with consultants, collaborative reviews, and the kind of back-and-forth that produces better work than a Slack thread ever will.
Remote days are built in for focused writing and deep research, when solitude is the point. If you are within a 60-minute commute and value the discipline of a shared workspace, the arrangement will suit you well.
