Swapan Bandopadhyay, Consultant, Consultivo was one of the speakers in the technical session on Fire & Electrical Safety at the CII Safety Symposium & Exposition 2018 – Eastern Region on 8 August. Consultivo was the technical partner of the CII Safety Symposium & Exposition and the central theme was “Safety Leadership Towards Vision Zero”.
This session on Fire & Electrical Safety was chaired by Dr Krishna Nirmalya Sen, Co-Chairman, CII Eastern Region Safety Taskforce. And the other panelists in the session were Sukanta Basu (General Manager – Risk & Disaster Management, CESC Ltd.) and Ajay Patki (Head – Safety, Tata Steel Processing & Distribution Ltd.). The session was graced by Jag Mohan, IPS, Director General, West Bengal Fire & Emergency Services.
The session focussed on the practical challenges industries face in terms of fire & electrical safety and their respective measures.
Mr Swapan Bandopadhyay gave a brief overview on the risks & hazards associated with fire & electricity, various firefighting equipment, means of fire prevention & protection and the associated legal acts.
The speakers cited examples from industries that helped people to relate and identify the potential hazards and ways of preventing them.
