Climate Action & Net-Zero Commitment
As a knowledge-driven ESG, sustainability, safety, and risk advisory firm, we recognise our responsibility to lead by example – through responsible operations, ethical governance, and meaningful social contribution.
Our Climate Vision
As a consulting partner to leading businesses across geographies and sectors, Consultivo recognises that its most credible contribution to climate action is to lead by example.
We are committed to:
Achieving Net-Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, and
Maintaining carbon-neutral operations for our current footprint, while progressively reducing emissions across our value chain.
Our climate approach prioritises measurable reduction, science-aligned targets, and responsible neutralisation, supported by governance oversight and continuous improvement.
Science-Aligned Targets
Consultivo has committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) under the streamlined pathway for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Our targets are aligned with the 1.5°C pathway, consistent with global efforts to limit the most severe impacts of climate change.
- Near-Term Target
Commit to a minimum 37.8% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2031, compared to a defined base year. - Long-Term Net-Zero Target
Commit to achieving Net-Zero emissions across the full value chain by 2050, through:- Deep absolute emission reductions of at least 90%, and
- Neutralisation of residual emissions through high-quality, permanent carbon removals.
These targets reflect a transition pathway based on reduction first, followed by responsible balancing.
Understanding Our Carbon Footprint
Consultivo undertakes periodic greenhouse gas accounting covering direct operations and material value-chain categories, including energy use, mobility, and digital infrastructure.
While detailed emission data is subject to independent verification prior to public disclosure, our current footprint assessment indicates that emissions primarily arise from:
Office energy consumption
Business travel and mobility
Digital services and cloud infrastructure
This assessment informs prioritisation of reduction actions and tracking of progress over time.
Our Decarbonisation Approach
Emission reduction remains our first and preferred lever. Current initiatives include:
Energy Efficiency & Clean Energy
Transitioning office lighting to sensor-based LED systems
Sourcing renewable energy instruments to reduce grid-related emissions
Low-Carbon Mobility
Adopting a “digital-first” engagement model to minimise travel
Prioritising rail over air travel for short-haul domestic routes where feasible
Digital Sustainability
Hosting digital assets on renewable-energy-powered servers
Optimising data storage and cloud usage to reduce avoidable digital emissions
These measures are periodically reviewed to identify further efficiency and reduction opportunities.
Balancing Residual Emissions
While structural reductions are implemented progressively, Consultivo takes responsibility for residual operational emissions through the use of credible carbon offset mechanisms.
Offsets are selected based on:
Recognised international standards
Additionality and permanence
Relevance to the Indian energy transition and community impact
This approach supports near-term carbon neutrality while longer-term reductions mature.
Governance, Partnerships & Accountability
Consultivo’s climate commitments are supported by participation in recognised global and national initiatives, including:
United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) – Alignment with the Ten Principles
SME Climate Hub – Contribution to the UN “Race to Zero” campaign
UNFCCC Climate Neutral Pledge
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Guidelines for members
Climate actions and targets are overseen through internal governance mechanisms and aligned with our broader responsible business and sustainability framework.
Our Direction Forward
Consultivo views climate action as a long-term transition journey, not a one-time commitment. Progress will be guided by:
Science-based pathways
Continuous measurement and improvement
Responsible disclosure as assurance milestones are achieved
Through this approach, we aim to demonstrate how professional services organisations can contribute meaningfully to global climate goals.
