The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Eastern region organised a one-day Electrical Safety Workshop and seminar on Managing Electrical Safety Risks with Consultivo as its Bronze partner on 20 April 2018 at Kolkata. This technical workshop by CII provided an overview of managing electrical safety and risks across industries along with prevention & mitigation techniques.
It was a great opportunity to be a part of this knowledge event – Seminar on Electrical Safety and publish our Electrical safety handbook among the presence of eminent safety professionals from various industries. This handbook has been prepared by the Consultivo team as an initiative to create awareness about electrical safety across industries, commercial entities as well as households.
During this one-day workshop, Consultivo had a dedicated interactive platform to interact with the safety professionals and receive direct feedback from the end users to understand and address their needs & issues.
The workshop session on 20 April 2018 saw the presence of eminent corporates & safety professionals from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), Dept. of Fire & Emergency Services (Govt. of West Bengal), ITC Limited, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), CESC Limited, Mineline Pvt Ltd, and others.
This technical workshop on electrical safety measures by CII provided a brief overview of managing electrical safety and risks across industries. Since electricity is a crucial component in today’s commercial and industrial environment, it brings in a lot of occupational hazards without safety awareness and precautionary practices in place.
Thus, with the objective of preventing loss by minimising workplace injuries & accidents, various topics ranging from identification, prevention & mitigation of electrical hazards & statutory legal requirements to challenges of using electricity in industries and how they could be addressed were discussed by the safety professionals. It was an interactive session where the speakers addressed the participants’ queries regarding electrical safety.
This knowledge event on electrical safety measures is a step ahead for everyone to understand the safety requirements and take necessary actions to create a safety culture within their organisations and surroundings.
This practical & risk-based electrical safety handbook gives an insight into the hazards involved in electrical safety, risks involved, risk management methodology, use of safety devices & equipment along with a 70-points self-assessment checklist to ensure electrical safety across industries.
