Critical thinking – the application of scientific methods and logical reasoning to problems and decisions – is the foundation of effective problem solving and decision making. Critical thinking enables us to avoid common obstacles, test our beliefs and assumptions, and correct distortions in our thought processes.
In this course, participants learnt techniques for identifying the root cause of a problem, generating options, and selecting the best solution. They were guided through several methods for identifying what’s actually causing a problem, including looking at the whole system when a problem is actually a symptom of a larger issue.
