Kolkata, September 11, 2025: Continuing the yearly practice, the 19th Safety Symposium and Exposition 2025, a 2-day annual flagship safety initiative by CII, was held on 11th and 12th September 2025 at ITC Sonar Kolkata. The symposium served as an active forum for the leading safety experts and industry thought leaders to convene and explore the emerging trends in workplace safety and employee wellness.

Consultivo had the honour of serving as the technical partner for the 19th edition of the CII Safety Symposium and Exposition – Eastern Region. This year’s symposium focused on the theme “Innovate HSE – Elevate Wellness”.

This joint CII-Consultivo report provides both quantitative and qualitative insights into the transformative potential of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) initiatives, projects, and activities within Indian companies. Through comprehensive research and analysis, the report aims to evaluate the effectiveness of impact assessments related to these OHS parameters. The findings are drawn from over 70 industry organizations, reflecting the OHS preparedness of companies in India’s Eastern region. The collected data has enabled a detailed analysis of overall trends and produced a diverse set of granular metrics.

Day 1: Inaugural session

Day 1 of the symposium began with an inaugural session graced by industry stalwarts:

A warm Welcome Address by Mr Rajiv Mangal was followed by the conferring of Safety, Health, and Environment Excellence Awards, where Mr Saikat Basu shared valuable perspectives. 71 industry organizations actively participated in the symposium. The agenda for day 1 included a session on “Leadership Role in Implementing Innovation in HSE”.

Day 2: Sessions and B2B meetings

Day 2 was marked with insightful sessions on ‘Mental Health in Digital Ecosystem’, ‘Reinventing Mining Methods for Sustainability’, ‘Innovative PPE for Better User Friendliness’ and ‘Modern Engineering for Safer Logistics’. Participants partook in impactful B2B meetings.

30 safety leaders joined in this 19 years of journey towards making workplaces safer through impactful cross-industry collaboration. Participants were enlightened from the discussions on new-age technologies and innovative products for reshaping workplace safety.
